I thought this only happens in the movies...It's unbelievable but ya, it happened to us...on the flight back from Vegas. We were sitting near the gate while we waited for our plane from SW airlines(US version of Air Asia).
We went to Vegas on a SW plane too and it was really an enjoyable flight..the pilot was like a tour guide, making announcements every now and then to look out of our plane window, and also giving a brief intro of where we were and what we are looking at. The air stewards made funny jokes along the way that made everyone laughed as well, and I really looked forward to the flight back with them.
An announcement about a delay in our flight came, but oh well, it happens. They even made an effort to tell us the reason. The weather wasn't fine that day either; so we chatted till we're ready to board.
Not long after, we boarded the plane and it took off. It was about 6+ in the evening. Estimated time to reach back in Ohio about 4 hrs time.
Then came an announcement by the stewardess, who sounded a little urgent, what I only heard was something like "Seeking medical assistance, if there's any doctors on board, we would appreciate if you could approach us, Thank you."
And fortunately, we had a nurse on board who was sitting right in front of me. She alerted the stewardess, immediately stood up and followed her to the rear of the plane. Afterwards, the stewardess took the medical kit and a portable AED back to the rear . This happened 1 hr after our take-off.

The pilot followed-up with another announcement that he'll be dimming the lights and that we might have to make an emergency landing in Denver due to a medical emergency.
Wah...everyone started their style of kaypoh-ing: some guessing what was happening, some turned their heads to peek, and a few stood up, walked to the rear to find out what's going on, when the pilot had just asked a favor for everyone to stay in their seats.
The stewardess later gave everyone an update that one of the crew members was having heart problems and that we're gonna do an emergency landing in Denver.

Once we landed, the medical crew at Denver airport came on board the plane and wheel-chaired the ''patient'' down the the plane. The pilot then announced that we will stop-over there for about an hour's time, for re-fueling,checking and re-routing.
Passengers took this time to walk about the airport, bought food back on board, called their loved ones about the delay.

Took off again, and after another 3+ hrs flight, we finally approach Ohio's airport. The pilot apologized for the delay and said we're gonna land in 20 mins time.
5 mins after this announcement, the pilot turned on the speaker again:"er...this is the pilot speaking, we have bad news...there's fog around the airport and we will have to make a detour to Chicago where we will land and wait for further instructions..we apologize once again..."

"HUH??!! OMG!! WHAT?!!" (-__-lll)
That's what i heard, loudly, from some of the passengers. Everyone almost fainted. When we landed at Chicago, it was about 2am(Ohio time). Everyone was switching on their cellphones, calling their family/friends, telling them about the updated situation and to go home to rest.
There was a moment of warmth somehow when i saw this.

Our flight back will be at 7.30am, which means we have 5+ hours before our flight. So we slept in the airport with all the passengers. The airport prepared many foldable stretcher beds at one corner, with pillows and blankets for us to rest. They even get the airport security guard to wake us up at 5.30am! (Well, reason being the airport opens at that time, and if we were sleeping there, it would be pretty unsightly. )
Got our breakfast, sat next to our departure gate...again.
This time, it took us about 50 mins to reach Ohio airport. Everyone applauded when we landed in Ohio. All our faces looked tired, eyes not fully opened, but everyone was smiling....well most of us were.
This kind of scenario was suppose to be in a movie.
真没想到会发生的这么突然。
好像在拍戏,度过了很有趣的一天。
